Hands-On Holidays: Creative Workshops for Young Makers
Swap screen time for "making" time!
Our workshops are all about giving children the chance to roll up their sleeves and try something totally new. It’s a friendly, hands-on space where kids can be messy, get creative, and feel proud of what they’ve built.
- Fused Glass: Layering colourful glass that "magically" melts together in our kiln.
- Clay & Ceramics: Squishing, rolling, and shaping real clay into figurines or bowls.
- Sewing School: Learn to use real sewing machines! Kids love the "zoom" of the machine as they create their own cushions, bags, or plushies.
- Felting: Turning fluffy wool into fuzzy 3D friends or textured pictures.
- Mosaics: Using bright tiles and fragments to create intricate patterns and pictures.
- Printing: Making custom stamps and blocks to create bold designs on fabric and paper.
- The Wait: These masterpieces usually take about 2-3weeks to be fired and cooled.
- Collection: Once that time has passed, please feel free to pop back into the shop during our opening hours to collect your work.
- Take-Home Today: Projects like Sewing, Mosaics, and Printing are usually ready to go home the very same day!
- Expert Tuition: All sessions are taught by qualified, experienced, and DBS-checked teachers.
- Parents Welcome: You are more than welcome to stay, or leave your young maker with us.
- Refreshments Included: We provide drinks and snacks to keep those creative energy levels up!
- Our Spaces: Most sessions run in our spacious Sorting Office event space. For those booking Sewing Workshops, you’ll head upstairs to our dedicated Sewing School.

May 2026 Half Term
Ceramic Cakes and Ice Gems
26th May 10-12noon £20
Get ready to sculpt your very own delicious-looking goodies! You’ll create a Ceramic Cake and add swirly clay frosting for a perfect finish. You'll also pinch and swirl your own colourful Iced Gems to go with it. These treats look good enough to eat and make the coolest handmade decorations for your room!
Forage and Felt
26th May 2-4pm £20
Go on a mini-adventure to find natural treasures like interesting leaves, feathers, or twigs! Once you’ve finished foraging, you’ll use soft, fluffy wool to create your own felt masterpiece inspired by what you found. It’s a brilliant way to explore the outdoors and turn your nature discoveries into a beautiful, fuzzy piece of art!
Fused Glass Sea Scene Curve
28th May 10-11.30am £20
Design your very own piece of the ocean using real glass! You’ll layer up colourful glass "sand," bright blue waves, and tiny bubbles to build an awesome seaside picture. You can even add tiny glass creatures like fish or crabs to bring your scene to life! Your artwork will be turned into a cool curved shape that stands up all by itself, so you can capture the magic of the beach in a 3D creation for your windowsill.
Sewing Brooches and Badges
28th May 10-12 noon £20
Become a fashion designer and make your own wearable art! Stitch cool shapes to create badges and brooches you can pin to your jacket or bag to show off your style.
Candle Making
28th May 1.30-3pm £20
Get ready to become a master candle-maker in this super fun, hands-on workshop! You’ll learn the secrets to pouring your very own candles and get to decorate them with awesome extras like colourful dried flowers or sparkly glitter to make them shine. You’ll head home with two amazing-smelling creations—complete with your own handmade labels—perfect for brightening up your room or giving to a friend as a special gift!

You’ll get your hands super messy as you learn to "tame" a wobbling lump of clay and pull it up into a bowl or vase while it whizzes around. It’s a high-energy, splashy session where you’ll feel just like a star on the TV show, turning squishy mud into your very own spinning masterpiece! Keep your favourite two to come back and glaze.
Summer Holidays
Herb Pot & Label & Plant Seeds
28th July 10-11.30am £15
Get ready to grow your very own plants! You’ll sculpt a Ceramic Herb Pot and make a matching label to show what’s inside. We will plant the seeds together during the workshop, so by the time your pot is ready to collect, your little herbs will already be growing!
Sewing - Fab Ice Lolly Cushion

Sew a giant, squishy 'Fab' lolly that looks good enough to eat! Stitch the iconic stripes and the chocolatey top to create the tastiest-looking cushion for your bedroom.
Mosaic Bird Bath

Design a beautiful, bird bath for your garden! You’ll use pieces of vintage china, colourful glass, and bright glass bobbles to create a fun pattern or a cool picture at the bottom of the dish. It’s a brilliant way to recycle pretty materials into a special, splashy gift for the birds to enjoy!

Jellycat Day!
4th August
Celebrate your favourite cuddly characters by making your very own inspired by the world of Jellycat! You can come to just one session to make your favourite, or come to all three to create a whole collection of quirky friends. Whether you make one masterpiece or a whole set, you'll head home with a unique, handmade character that’s 100% designed by you!
Sew A Jellycat - 10-12noon or 2-4pm £20
Use the softest, snuggliest fabrics to stitch together your very own floppy friend! You’ll learn how to put the pieces together and add stuffing to make a huggable plushie that is just as cute as the ones in the shops.
Clay Jellycat - 10-11.30am or 12.30-2pm or 3-4.30pm £15
Sculpt a mini version of your favourite character out of clay! Whether you want to make a bashful bunny, a silly succulent, or a happy boiled egg, you’ll use your hands to bring their funny personalities to life.
Felted Jellycat - 10-11.30am or 2-3.30pm £15
Poke and prod soft, colourful wool to grow a fuzzy little friend! You’ll learn how to shape the wool into a squishy character that looks like it stepped right off the shelf.

Design your own mini string of bunting that sparkles in the sun! You’ll use real glass to create small, colourful flags, layering up your favourite patterns, stripes, or dots. Once they are finished, your tiny flags will be linked together to create a bright, shiny decoration that looks amazing hanging in a window!
Sewing - Bean Bag Frog

Stitch a floppy, hoppy frog that actually sits up! Make his fun, flappy legs and fill him with lentils to make him heavy and squishy. He’s the perfect weighted buddy to keep you company anywhere you go.
Clay Poem Picture

Turn your favourite words into a one-of-a-kind treasure! You’ll sculpt an awesome clay plaque and use special stamps to press a poem or a secret message right into the clay. Add cool swirls and patterns to make it pop and create a masterpiece that’s ready to hang on your wall!
Ceramic Beach Hut

Bring the seaside to your bedroom by sculpting your very own beach hut! Build your hut from scratch and go wild designing the tiny details like little doors, windows, and even life rings. It’s a fun way to create a mini coastal getaway to keep on your shelf!
Flower & Foliage Casting

Capture the beauty of nature in a solid clay masterpiece! You’ll start by pressing real flowers and leaves into soft clay to create perfect, detailed imprints of every petal and vein. Then, you'll learn how to pour in a special mixture to create a permanent 3D plaque that "freezes" your garden finds in time. It’s a brilliant way to turn your favourite plants into an awesome piece of art for your wall!
Sewing - Cuddly Stingray Toy

Dive into sewing by making a sleek stingray with fun wings! Stitch the wide body and the long, skinny tail to create your very own ocean-inspired plushie that's perfect for snuggling.
Jewellery Making

Screen Print Bag
20th August 10-11.30am £20
Become a print superstar and design your own stylish tote bag! You’ll start by drawing your very own designs to create a custom screen that is totally unique to you. Then, use a squeegee to "push" bright inks through your hand-drawn screen to reveal your artwork on a canvas bag. You’ll head home with a professional-looking bag that is 100% made by you and ready to carry all your stuff!

Make your own decorations using pieces of vintage china, colourful glass, and shiny glass bobbles! You’ll mix and match different shapes and colours to design your own unique patterns on fun shapes. Ceramic Cactus

Sculpt a "forever-green" cactus friend that stays bright and happy without any watering! You’ll shape your own cactus out of clay and add fun details like tiny prickles, ridges, or even a little flower on top. Once it's finished, you'll "plant" your creation into its own pot for the perfect low-maintenance decoration for your room.
Sewing - Drawstring Cat Bag

Turn a simple bag into a "purr-fect" kitty pouch! Sew pointy ears and a special tunnel for the string to pull it shut. It’s the cutest way to carry your treasures.
Mini Clay Houses

Felt Autumn Bunting
