Workshop Bookings Terms and Conditions
We are really looking forward to seeing you soon. Some info to help you ready for your visit.
Arrival:
We do have other workshops and bookings in the Sorting Office, so please arrive about 10 mins before the workshop and please do try to be on time, so we can start and not keep everyone waiting – thank you!
Payment:
All workshops require full payment at the time of booking. You will not be booked onto the course and place confirmed without full payment.
Cancellations:
We understand that things can go wrong, and something might occur which prevents you from attending your workshop. Our workshops are really popular and we turn people away once booked up. If you do cancel your place once paid for, this is what we can offer:
Time before your scheduled workshop:
Cancel 3 weeks or more before your scheduled date – we will offer an alternative date of your choice subject to places available.
Cancel less than 3 weeks before scheduled date – we will make all attempts to fill your place and if we are successful we will offer an alternative specific date to attend. If we are not successful in filling your place we cannot offer a new date but you are of course entitled to pass on your place to someone else.
Cancel less than 48 hours before – I’m afraid we cannot offer a refund or alternative date. You are welcome to send someone else in your place though!
Alternative date cancellation: if your booking is an alternative date due to you moving your original booking we cannot offer another date.
In the extremely unlikely event that we need to cancel a workshop ourselves, we will offer you a choice of alternative dates. We cannot be held liable for any other costs you may incur as a result of the cancellation (eg accommodation/travel booking).
Health and Safety:
This is a workshop environment, so there is always the possibility of getting glass cuts or picking up small glass splinters, or other materials.
Liability:
We will provide a health and safety briefing at the beginning of the workshop. We do have Public Liability insurance but cannot be held responsible for any illness or injury that occurs from not following the health and safety guidance given.
To get to us:
Our address is The Old Post Office, 12 North Street, Emsworth, PO10 7DF. We are next to the fire station and opposite Tesco Express. The nearest parking is the Palmer’s Road Car Park behind Tesco or North Street next to the fire station. Parking details:
· Palmer’s Road car park (120 spaces) 1 min walk is £1.90 for 2 hours
· North Street car park next to the fire station (34 spaces) 1 min walk is £1.90 for 2 hours
· Bridge street (54 spaces) is free and a 7 min walk
· Other car parks at the station and in South Street, Emsworth (approx. 7 min walk)
We are a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and near the bus stops from Portsmouth and Chichester/Bognor.
Refreshments:
We provide refreshments in the form of teas, coffees, water (and usually a cake!) throughout the duration of the workshops. There are decaf and herbal options too. If you would like breakfast or lunch, there are lots of options around Emsworth, but nearest to us is Petit Pain next door or Café Moka across the road, as well as Tesco Express.
What to wear or bring:
We would suggest bringing a notebook and pen to write down techniques or anything you would like to remember. An equipment or materials list will be sent separately if required, otherwise, just bring yourself! Please wear closed toe shoes for safety and layers in case you are too hot or cold.
Other info:
Please make sure you listen to and comply with all health and safety information that your tutor will tell you about. You will be provided with any health and safety equipment that you may need. You could bring an apron if you wish. Also be aware of fire exits and please note this is an old building, so take care when walking around. Please let your tutor know if you have an allergies or health needs.
Are there any additional costs?:
Materials will be charged by weight in most cases (fused glass), or will be included in your workshop fee (check the details), but is dependent on the size and complexity of your designs. Everything you make will need to be paid for, so please bear that in mind when creating! Some workshop creations will need to be fired and picked up approx. 3-6 weeks later. We will hold your makes for up to 6 months – if you don’t come and pick up we will send you a paypal invoice as all makes need to be paid for. Thank you!
