Kids Saturday Sewing Sessions

Come along to our kids sewing Saturday - for stitching fun!

We will be running regular kids sewing Saturday's with a different project in each. 

We will use the sewing machines and hand stitching for the creations. 

The children will learn how to use a pattern and cut fabric as well as stitching and finishing.  The focus will be on fun with fabric! 

The children will need to know how to use a sewing machine or have been on our Sewing Machine Driving Licence workshop already.

Suitable for children aged 8+ (or those younger who can already use a sewing machine).

16th May 10-12.30 - Personalised Bunting

Brighten up your room with your very own bunting! Sew perfect triangles and add your name or initials to make it extra special. You’ll head home with a beautiful decoration that is 100% designed by you.

20th June 10-12.30pm - Cactus in a Pot

Stitch a "forever-green" cactus friend that stays bright and happy all year round! Have fun sewing the curvy shapes before "planting" your creation into its own pot. It’s the coolest decoration you’ll ever make.

18th July 10-12.30pm - Make Your Own Alien

Create an out-of-this-world friend from another planet! Stitch a fun alien shape and give them their own unique personality. You’ll head home with a one-of-a-kind space-bestie that you made all by yourself.

15th August 10-12.30pm - Teddy in a Sleeping Bag

Sew a whole new best friend from scratch! First, stitch together a super-soft, cuddly teddy, then make a matching, cosy sleeping bag for them to snooze in. It’s the perfect nap-time set to take home.

12th September 10-12.30pm - Cross Body Bag

Make your own trendy bag to wear everywhere! You’ll learn how to put your bag together and attach a strap to create a stylish accessory that is perfect for carrying your favourite things.

17th October 10-12.30pm - Monster/Halloween Soft Toy

Stitch up a spooky-cute monster friend! Have fun sewing around zig-zag teeth and quirky horns to bring your monster to life. It’s a handmade treasure that is way more sweet than scary.

14th November 10-12.30pm - Advent Calendar

Become a Christmas elf and sew your own countdown to Santa! Stitch 24 little pockets onto a festive background to create a holiday tradition you can use every single year.

12th December 10-12.30pm - Christmas Tree Drawstring Bag

Step into Santa’s workshop and sew your very own Christmas Tree Drawstring Bag! Stitch together a magical, tree-shaped pouch that’s perfect for stashing your favourite holiday sweets or hiding secret North Pole treasures.

We have brand new Janome sewing machines for them to use, plus all the other tools, equipment and sewing 'notions'.

All patterns, fabric, notions and workshop is provided within the cost. 

Refreshments will be provided throughout the workshop. 

Parents/carers are welcome to stay in our reception area or come back later to pick up.

This workshop takes place upstairs in our new sewing school and I'm afraid we do not have a lift.  We do have a toilet and refreshment station upstairs.
