Beginners Guide to Dressmaking Skills Half Day
A real beginners guide to dressmaking skills.
You will learn:
- how to choose your size on a pattern
- cut out a pattern
- transfer it to fabric
- sew a dart
- construct a seam
- add fastenings
Using a simple top pattern (all sizes available!), this workshop will give you the skills to understand patterns and take the knowledge and skills to make simple clothes on your own!
You will need to know how to use a sewing machine for this workshop, so we suggest doing our Beginners Guide to Sewing Machine workshop before this one.
This workshop takes place in our Sewing School.
We have brand new Janome sewing machines for you to use, plus all the other tools, equipment and sewing 'notions'.
You need to bring with you 2 metres of a cotton fabric you would like for your top - you can always bring a small duvet cover instead!
Refreshments will be provided throughout the workshop.
We have sewing machines you can use, but if you prefer to bring your own you are very welcome to.
18th July 2-4.30pm £45
12th September 2-4.30pm £45
This workshop takes place upstairs in our new sewing school and I'm afraid we do not have a lift. We do have a toilet and refreshment station upstairs.
