This relaxed, hands‑on workshop is perfect if you want to build confidence sewing knit fabrics and come away with a garment you’ll wear again and again.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
- How to work confidently with jersey and stretch fabrics
- Cutting out and preparing a Merchant & Mills tee shirt pattern
- Constructing a tee shirt using an overlocker or sewing machine
- Neat neckline finishes and professional hems
- Tips for fit, sizing, and future makes at home
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- Use of a Merchant & Mills tee shirt pattern.
- Use of sewing machines and overlockers.
- Expert, step‑by‑step guidance.
- Tea, coffee, and biscuits.
BRING WITH YOU:
- At least 1.3 metres (of 140cm wide) fabric either linen, tencel, denim, cotton chambray, needlecord or tee shirt material.
- 1 metres of ribbing to go with your fabric choice.
- Matching thread.
(You’ll leave with a finished tee shirt and the skills to make more.)

- Makers who love well‑designed, practical clothing.
Basic machine‑sewing knowledge is helpful, but you don’t need prior experience with jersey.
If you would like a refresher on using a sewing machine, we suggest doing our Beginners Guide to Sewing Machine workshop before this workshop.
This workshop takes place in our Sewing School.
We have brand new Janome sewing machines for you to use, plus all the other tools, equipment and sewing 'notions'.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the workshop.
We have sewing machines you can use, but if you prefer to bring your own you are very welcome to.

This workshop takes place upstairs in our new sewing school and I'm afraid we do not have a lift. We do have a toilet and refreshment station upstairs.
