Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced painter, our friendly painting club is a welcoming place to explore your creativity, learn new techniques, and enjoy time with others who love art.

What to Expect

·        Relaxed painting sessions in a friendly atmosphere with guidance when needed

·        Opportunities to try watercolours and/or acrylics

·        Helpful tips, encouragement, and creative inspiration

·        Time to work on your own projects or join the weekly themed activities

Everyone Is Welcome

No experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm (if you would like specific taught workshops, please join our courses). Please bring your own favourite supplies to use.

The tutor for this workshop is Emsworth's own Jo Silcock.  Jo is a painter working in watercolours, acrylics and mixed media. She is influenced by all things nautical and coastal including flora and fauna, especially in the local Emsworth area.   Jo paints in many mediums and styles from realism to abstract.  Jo exhibits with the Emsworth artists and the Emsworth arts trail. Jo has used Art in a therapeutic way throughout her career in Social care within Education and really believes it is a great form of communication and mindfulness.  Jo now teach Art to adults and children in the local area which is very rewarding... she believes that Art should be fun and rules can be broken. That is Creativity!

This is a 3 week block/course over 3 Tuesdays.

30/6, 7/7, 14/7 2026 10-12 noon  
8/9, 15/9, 22/9 2026 10-12 noon
6/10, 13/10, 20/10 2026 10-12 noon

Cost is £30 for all 3 sessions.  

To bring: Your art supplies and paper. 

We have some available to purchase in the shop if you don't have any yet.
