Across four friendly, confidence-building sessions, you’ll learn the essential techniques of crochet using UK terminology. Each workshop builds on the last, so by the end you’ll have the skills to tackle simple patterns with ease.

If you’d like a project to practise on, you can crochet a scarf (working in rows) or a beanie (working in rounds) alongside the course, using every technique you learn.
Workshop 1 – Getting Started: Hooks, Yarn & Your First Loops

- How to comfortably hold your hook and yarn.
- How to make a slip knot and your first foundation chain.
- How to manage tension so your stitches look even.
- Your very first stitch: the double crochet (dc).
Result: By the end of this session, you’ll be able to crochet a small swatch and feel confident handling your tools.
Workshop 2 – Building Height: Taller Stitches & Straight Edges
Now that you’ve met the basics, we’ll expand your toolkit.

Workshop 3 – Shaping Your Work: Rounds, Increases & Decreases
